School begins this month for a lot of people, so I wanted to suggest some tools available online or for your PC that you might find helpful as I do. I may write more about these going forward. I find these indispensable!
- Asana – Never forget an assignment. Track them all with Asana. Every class you take is a “project”. When you get the semester syllabus, enter every item to be done as tasks assigned to you with due dates. The “My Tasks” view tells you what needs to be done each week for all classes. The free version will probably do everything you need.
- Obsidian – My absolute favorite note-taking app. Far better than OneNote, Evernote, and even Joplin. Yes, you’ll need to learn Markdown — the way to format text, add headings, etc. — but it’s simple and quickly becomes second nature. Totally free unless you need to sync with your Android or iOS phone or tablet. To do that currently costs $10 a year, so it’s still a bargain.
- OBS Studio – If you take classes online, it may be helpful to record the class — both video and audio — for review later. OBS Studio is perfect for this.
All of these tools are priced right for students — free — and the free versions do everything you need.
What tools would you suggest?
